It has been amazing to read all the cards and messages that have come in for mum over the last 10 days or so and what is clear is that there was this golden thread of kindness and concern for others throughout her life. As a young child, I can remember her helping a group of Vietnamese boat people locally - and making me give away one of my cuddly toys (panda bear) to one of their children! If she could help someone, then she would. She always had time for you - as well as everyone else who she met on her daily walks around the block over the last few years. A 10 minute walk would take her at least double that time, as she stopped to chat to everyone she encountered.
